LightAct Interactive Lighting Control System launched the beta version of their software last week.

LightAct Software Suite in combination with LightAct hardware modules allows you to create interactive lighting installations much easier than before.

LightAct Software Suite (LASS) is a software for Microsoft Windows that enables you to design interactive lighting through a graphical user interface and download the design onto the LightAct controller module.

You can import the drawing of the space, place the lights and the sensors for interactivity. Every light allows you to adjust the default color/power, which happens when noone is around the light, and active color/power which takes place when someone steps closer. You can also adjust the required distance between the person and the light that triggers the interaction.

By placing the cameras in the space you can see the field of view of each of the camera, which automatically adjusts itself according to the height of installation as well as the rotation.

You can also adjust the motion sensitivity of each camera via 6 different parameters. The motion detection algorithms filter out random noise as well as changing of the light.
LightAct Software Suite also allows you to map camera coordinates to space coordinates, which makes it much easier to design the interactivity.

For the time when noone is around the lights you can choose between several preset lighting scenes. For example LifeWithin function mimics a lifelike movement of light, whereas twinkle mimics the twinkling of the stars in the night sky.
The software is available for download free of charge here. All you have to do is login.
