The SOURCE Awards is an annual competition sponsored by Cooper Lighting and is calling for entries. It is open to lighting designers, engineers, architects, professional designers and consultants who use Cooper Lighting fixtures in an interior or exterior design projects. Students currently enrolled in any of these disciplines are also eligible to enter projects based on conceptual lighting designs but will be judged in a separate student category. The competition this year seeks a creative use of fixtures providing energy-efficient design solutions in addition to standard projects.
The competition requires the primary and predominant use of any or all of the Cooper Lighting brands, which include Ametrix, Corelite, Fail-Safe, Halo, Invue, io, Iris, Lumark, Lumiere, McGraw-Edison, Metalux, MWS, Neo-Ray, PDS, Portfolio, RSA, Shaper, Streetworks, and Sure-Lites.
Three award categories will be granted: Winner, Honorable mention and Award of Recognition. The projects will be judged on the blending of aesthetics, creative achievement, technical performance, and the accords of project constraints and design concept goals.
The SOURCE Awards competition was created to furthering the understanding, knowledge and function of lighting as a primary element in design.
All entries must be postmarked before 29th of January 2010, accompanied by an entry form that can be found on Cooper Lighting website.
