North Dumpling near Connecticut/USA is a small privately owned island. Since it has been cut of electricity it’s owner, an inventor Dean Kamen, decided to create a showcase of sustainable technology out of it. Color Kinetics, LED manufacturer owned by Philips, is the official provider of LED solutions which are the only light source on the island. They help to create what can be called Zero Energy Island where all the energy that is used is produced on the island itself.
The island will be officially opened in spring as part of a fundraising event for FIRST – For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
