ACT Lighting Design from Belgium has sent us images of their Gran Sasso project completed in Teramo/Italy in 2007.
The design team used different styles of lighting design in order to differentiate between various spaces within the shopping centre.

Here is some more info by ACT Lighting Design:

The architecture of this project has been influenced by the near mountains; elements like the stone arc, the wooden pillars and ceiling, the external stone wall, the “lake”, were all given their importance by the lighting.
All lighting sources have been carefully integrated in the architecture, hiding them into architectural elements or creating lighting elements that fit in the style of the interior design. As an example, V-shaped recessed elements are made to measure boxes containing several down lights for
general illumination.

These elements completely fit in the diamond shape of the roof lights and roof structure. In this way, there is no down light or functional lighting element impairing the view and the lighting atmosphere on the atria.

Suspended elements in the galleries contain general lighting and give sparkle to the spaces thanks to the interaction between RGB LED dots and the specific quality of the chosen material.

Outdoor areas have also been carefully studied to provide an attractive atmosphere on the main esplanade, on path around the terraces and the water features.
