L’Observatoire International won the Award of Merit of 2010 Lumen Awards for the lighting design for a private residence in Kuala Lumpur.

Description follows
—
This wild, otherworldly architecture is the backdrop for a futuristic yet traditional house in Kuala Lumpur.

A Parisian interior designer, a Kenyan-born Canadian architect, and a New York lighting designer collaborated on this 32,000 ft^2 residence for three generations of a prominent Chinese-Malaysian family.

“Once in a while, a lighting designer meets an architect/interior designer who fully appreciates the synergies possible with early collaboration, mutual goals, and close coordination in detailing.”

“This beautiful project exemplifies the benefits of such a fortunate relationship.”
