Flux Studio sent us images of an installation they worked on with Gensler architects.

The installation consists of bales of waste paper that are going to be recycled into new products. The lighting features fluorescent strips and LCD projectors

(Y)our Own Two Hands was a comissioned installation located outside of the 2007 Neocon East convention. The goal of this exhibit was to promote dialogoue around sustainability and offer visitors an altenative view of the “green” movement before they entered the convention hall.

The large bales were borrowed from a local company that obtaines paper waste and sends it on to companies that recycle it to make new products. The lighting approach included modular fluorescent strip lights that accetuate the texture of the material and LCD projectors that presented video of the paper recycling process.

In addition to recieving a 2008 from the Society of Environmental Graphics Honor Award, (Y)our Own
Two Hands was highlighted in Issue no. 21 of SEGD Design magazine.
